I just want to wish those that will be in the progression group some good luck for MoP.
From years of experience of raiding, and pretty successfully too i might add, considering the amount of things that have gone against myself prior to being in this guild, and also during the time in this guild where Dave has had the luxury of being the guy with less hair than everyone else, I would like to say a few words of ........ encouragement.
If you guys want <Agrivation> and <Fabled> to be "THE" Alliance Guilds on the Realm that ppl look up to, then by all means carry on as you are, because we are no match for them, they are far better than us, even if they dont come across as the guys youd go out on the piss with, you have to admit they work as a team, where we are maybe half a team trying to drag one or two with us.
Im going to use Dave as an example - He reads tactics for every fight, not once and thinks thats enough, but actually spends hours on them till his eyes bleed. He looks up each individual class as best as he can, until when ? until his eyes bleed. Why does he do this ? Answer - Because he wants to be the best, and i doubt anyone could argue the fact that he is one of the best on realm. But to be the best in raiding requires 10 people who are dedicated.
There are so many people who want to be the best too, and why not ? its a nice feeling to win, but i dare say there is a couple of people who think that taking part is all that counts, and winning is for other guilds, or its just pure laziness, expecting the raid leader to sit down and play their char for them.
We have done well in all tiers to be fair, but in every tier we have carried people for certain fights, and i dare say in Firelands/DS a LOT of people have been "carried". When i say "carried" it doesnt mean these people are rubbish players, no, they know their classes well, but "carried" in respect of it taking 30+ attempts before they can start understanding an encounter, and know what abilities are useful at certain times. I recall a few moments in the past which made me facepalm, but one in particular was on around the 50th attempt on Alysrazor, i heard "can brushfire be interrupted?", well why dont you try it ? people dont want to hear such stupid questions after 50 wipes, this question should have either been asked on the 2-5th try, or even attempted yourself to find out.
Now, we are lucky to have a plethora of articles on the internet, and these things can be found out on the web - WOOP, this means we should all know the fight before even levelling to 90.
In the past, ive said so many times "why should i bother, when ppl clearly dont put the effort in", but im too much of a "we can do it" person to do that, and I try to help people along, which .... is probably my downfall. A part of me wishes I had the decency to put myself out of my misery by refusing to invite the people who slack.
The guild can do very well as we have very good players, and the majority of people look up fights beforehand. But im urging Dave and Officers to possibly recruit more guys, so when on the first week you feel someone hasnt bothered their ass to look up the fights, then you can replace them, they would be better suited to another run, other than progression.
P.S - opening week, you could have done your homework and down the first boss within an hour, so dont forget to use the next 3 weeks to research the whole raid instance ;) yes, 3 weeks, could probably one-shot after 3 weeks of research.
P.P.S - If anyone thinks this is harsh, or im talking crap, then please let me know. All I want is for you guys to have better dates on your achieves than anyone else. Other guilds put effort in outside of Raid times to achieve this. If the above is too much for you to do, then please step aside and let those that are willing to do it a chance of the progression they deserve, and you will still see end game, but only when enough people have downed it, so they can "carry you".
